Prize Giving Ceremony at St. Patrick's

This year’s Prize Giving Ceremony coincided with the Holy Week.  Due to this it was deemed fit to produce the annual musical related to these festivities.

St. Patrick’s Drama Group is quite familiar with biblical themes.  In the past the group produced musicals such as Cain and Abel, Moses, Joseph and Noah’s Ark.  This year’s production was entitled Rega’ Sebah which depicted the passion of Jesus.  It was an ambitious project considering that the amount of time available for rehearsals was quite limited with the many activities we have throughout the year.

However, this lack of time was not evident, neither in the acting nor in the set.  The effort of the workshop group was clearly visible.  Special thanks go also to Ms Rose Caruana for making the show realistic by her sartorial talents.  It was no easy task to prepare over 30 made to measure costumes.

The evening continued with the distribution of prizes and school leaving certificates.  These were handed by Dr. James J Calleja, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Employment and the Family.  Mr. Calleja praised the efforts done by the Salesian Community and staff and was pleasantly surprised with the high standard of the production.

The evening came to an end with a well deserved farewell party to our school leavers.  It was sad to see them go but on the other hand that is our lot; to care, educate and finally to let loose.
