Juventus' visit

Wednesday, 9th January will remain in the memories of our boys as a group of Juventus footballers led by team manager Gianluca Pessotto and Dr Michael Schriha, president of the Juventus Vero Amore Club walked into the school to the students' amazement.

Raffeale Palladino, Antonio Nocerino, Christian Molinaro and Nicola Legrottaglie walked into our school yard where they even played with the boys for some time.  Upon arrival Headmaster Fr Charlie, welcomed the Juventus delegation and thanked them for their visit and explained that the students had also founded a School Juventus Club and published a monthly newsletter.

A very touching moment was when Gianluca Pessotto asked Joseph Gauci, a form 5 student and a fervent supporter  to address the players in the name of all the students.  Joseph could not control his emotions and drove members of the staff and the players themselves to tears.  The players then proceeded to sign authographs and take pictures with all the students and improvised a session of ball juggling and penalty shootout before visiting the premises.

When thanked for their visit, Christiano Molinaro  said " It is not us that did something great today but all those who work with these boys every single day"

The Juventus players were cleary touched by the experience and this could be seen as they spontaneously began to sign posters they saw hanging in the residential area.  Palladino said that this one of the best moments in Malta.

This day will surely remain in the memories of all the students present on that day.
