The Green MT School Competition

We are very proud to announce that this is the second time that St. Patrick’s Salesian School gets awarded for its commitment towards the environment.

The first one was last year’s participation in the second edition of the National School Battery Collection Campaign were we placed first.  It is worth mentioning our student William Zerafa, who through his perseverance managed to collect more than 14,000 batteries thus assuring the 1st prize to the school.

This year we embarked on another project. The Sliema Local Council together with Green MT Ltd launched a school competition through the collection of recyclable waste.  This competition was open for schools fallen under the Sliema locality.

Our students took this campaign very seriously and made full use of our recycling facilities.  Our deal towards the environment was again rewarded as our students collected the highest amount of recyclable waste thus sending our school to the top of the range.

Apart from winning the prize, this competition served also as an educative experience.  As a school we strive to instill in our students a sense of duty and respect towards the environment.

Every little counts and ‘the worst mistake that man can do is to think that someone else will save the world”.
