Celebrating the festive month

December is a busy month for the students and staff at St. Patrick’s Salesian School.  A section of the students along with member of the staff would be busy rehearsing for the Pantomime.

Taking advantage of the general festive feeling, the rest of the students along with the staff enjoyed a number of educational excursions.

This year we visited the Ghammieri Farm, the police museum of crime along with the dog section and lastly a cook out at San Brinkaw cave, Gharghur.  During the whole week a Xmas tournament was also held.

Meanwhile the rehearsals were going at full swing and this effort was evident on Thursday evening.

This year we were treated to a philanthropic though rather careless Dr. Jekyll and his violent counterpart Mr. Hyde.  In good panto tradition the evil matron , Mr Hyde’s accomplice got what she deserved.   Mr. Hyde disappeared and Dr. Jekyll got engaged to the beautiful nurse.  A heartfelt well done to our young actors who did their best to give us a pleasant evening.

To mark the end of the school first term in the appropriate spirit we celebrated mass with the traditional sermon delivered by our youngest student, Ryan Montesin.  This year we also had budding musicians from Sannat Gozo who helped us to animate the mass.

The day came to an end with the school party which culminated with the award giving ceremony for the winner  of the Xmas tournament.  However, in true Salesian spirit, all students received a gift.  The gift is a token showing that we are all winners.  And thus on this vein the first school term came to an end.
