Last year our school participated in the second edition of the National School Battery Collection Campaign and we are proud to announce that our school has won this competition. This campaign was launched by WasteServ Malta Ltd and sponsored and supported by FIMBank plc. The aim of this campaign was to raise awareness about the negative impact batteries can cause if not disposed of correctly.
Our school collected the largest amount of used batteries by weight reaching a total of 167.55 kgs. The presentation of EUR 2,000 worth of school equipment was presided over by the Minister for Resources and Rural Affairs, the Hon. George Pullicino, WastServ Malta Ltd Chairman Perit Ben Farrugia and FIMBank plc President Margrith Lutschg-Emmenegger
A special recognition goes particularly to William Zerafa, a Form 2 student who took this campaign very seriously and collected more than 14,000 batteries sending our school to the top of the league. As a sign of appreciation for his exemplary effort, the school rewarded him with a PSP GO. Well done William!
