Events 2009 2010

Christmas 2011

Christmas brings with it a certain bustle that seems to hover in the air of St Patrick’s corridors along with the tinsels and the quivering fairy lights of the Christmas tree. There is always so much to prepare for. And as it should be, our first thoughts turned to others as we embarked on fund-raising activities in order to make our little contribution towards the Community Chest Fund. Although a charitable institution itself, St Patrick’s knows full-well that there is greater pleasure in giving than in receiving.

Catch the Drop Campaign

Our school is participating in the Catch the Drop Campaign, a campaign which has been launched last year and is being continued throughout this scholastic year.  This is an educational water conservation campaign with the aim to increase awareness of the value and importance of water.

Animal Awareness day

Last year our school took it upon itself to sponsor 3 dogs for a year to commemorate animal awareness week.  The money was duly collected and the beneficiaries were the Association for Abandoned Animals (AAA)

This year we renewed our commitment towards this noble cause.   Rather than rely merely on the exposure usually done by bringing speakers at school in conjunction with thematic lessons, their action took a more tangible form.

The Green MT School Competition

We are very proud to announce that this is the second time that St. Patrick’s Salesian School gets awarded for its commitment towards the environment.

The first one was last year’s participation in the second edition of the National School Battery Collection Campaign were we placed first.  It is worth mentioning our student William Zerafa, who through his perseverance managed to collect more than 14,000 batteries thus assuring the 1st prize to the school.

Prize Giving Ceremony at St. Patrick's

This year’s Prize Giving Ceremony coincided with the Holy Week.  Due to this it was deemed fit to produce the annual musical related to these festivities.

Visit at AAA

There is no faith which has never yet been broken, except that of a truly faithful dog” – Konrad Lorenz

Very rightly so.  A dog is a faithful animal that gives unconditional love.  It does not judge us or hold us to measure.  And that is what a group of our students experienced when they visited the Association of Abandoned Animals (AAA) -one of the dog’s sanctuaries situated in Marsa.

Launch of the 3rd edition of the Battery Buster Campaign

Following our success in the battery buster campaign held last year, WastServ Malta decided to use St. Patrick’s as the spring board for the launch of the 3rd edition of this campaign.

Wastserv Malta entrusted our school to come up with a suitable programme to mark the beginning of the campaign.  Naturally we rose to the occasion.

The Battery Buster Campaign

Students from St. Patrick’s Salesian School gathered at Wasteserv’ Civic Amenity Site in Mriehel to see off the batteries they have collected during a campaign launched last year, being sent off on a container heading to Italy.

Young lifter from St. Patrick's

Former student of St. Patrick’s Salesian School, Christian Saliba, was one of the three lifters from the Malta Weightlifting Association who has competed in the European Junior Championships Tournament held in Cyprus.

Celebrating the festive month

December is a busy month for the students and staff at St. Patrick’s Salesian School.  A section of the students along with member of the staff would be busy rehearsing for the Pantomime.

Taking advantage of the general festive feeling, the rest of the students along with the staff enjoyed a number of educational excursions.
